About BOSS FIGHTERS

BOSS FIGHTERS is an asynchronous arena combat game where a team of four Fighters battles a Boss—a giant enemy controlled by another player. The Boss can use devastating attacks like smashing buildings and throwing debris, while Fighters rely on grappling hooks, rockets, and other gear to fight back. Players can experience the game in VR, adding a layer of immersion to the Boss role. Seasons introduce new gear and cosmetics, and players can mint items into NFTs to preserve them between seasons.

New Features and Perks in Season 2

One of the key changes in Season 2 is the application of a +15% efficiency bonus to all newly crafted items. This bonus directly affects the Power and Value perks of the equipment, making the gear more effective in matches. While this boost applies only to items created during Season 2, standard items from Season 1 return to their base 100% efficiency. However, Unique and Transcendent items from the previous season maintain their 115% efficiency due to their rarity, supporting ongoing value for players who earned high-tier equipment in earlier gameplay.

A new gameplay mechanic also debuts this season in the form of the Extra $BFTOKEN perk. This perk is available exclusively for gear of Legendary rarity and higher and provides players with additional $BFTOKEN on top of standard match rewards. The reward from this perk is performance-based, meaning that players who achieve stronger results in matches can expect to receive a greater bonus. The perk is divided into 10 rarity tiers, each offering a different scaling bonus, which is intended to reward consistent and high-level gameplay.

According to the development team, these additions are part of a broader approach to keep the game’s ecosystem dynamic and competitive. By adjusting item efficiency and introducing perks tied to match performance, the developers aim to give players new incentives to craft strategically and refine their gameplay over time.

Prize Pool and Leaderboard Mechanics

The central competitive feature of Season 2 is the Token Burnout Leaderboard. This leaderboard ranks players based on the total amount of $BFTOKEN they spend within the game. Each token spent equals one point, and points can be earned through a range of in-game activities including crafting, merging items, making purchases in the in-game shop, and spending on boosted rolls. This system encourages economic activity while directly linking player spending to leaderboard positioning.

The prize pool for Season 2 is tiered, beginning with a base unlock requiring 100,000 tokens to be spent by the community. As the community collectively spends more tokens, additional reward tiers are unlocked. The final tier, unlocked at 10 million tokens spent, brings the prize pool to its maximum of 12 million $BFTOKEN and grants access to the most valuable Mystery Boxes. These Mystery Boxes vary in rarity and slot count based on the tier unlocked, ranging from Common Boxes with one slot to Unique Boxes with three slots.

The top 100 players on the leaderboard will receive a share of the 300 available Mystery Boxes. Distribution is based on placement, with higher-ranking players receiving more boxes. The top 20 players, for example, each receive five boxes, while those ranked from 81 to 100 each receive one.

Accessing and Playing Season 2

Players interested in joining BOSS FIGHTERS Season 2 can begin by registering through the official platform and linking their Open Loot account. This enables access to the full range of economy features within the game. The game is available for download through the Open Loot Launcher, GGEM Launcher, and Steam as a demo version. For VR users, the game can also be accessed through the Meta Store on Meta Quest devices.

Season 2 of BOSS FIGHTERS builds upon the game’s play-to-earn foundation, offering a competitive framework that rewards both economic activity and in-game performance. With the inclusion of new perks and a performance-based reward structure, players have multiple paths to participation, allowing for greater engagement in the evolving web3 gaming landscape.
