Fans of the franchise can look forward to the return of iconic modes such as Conquest and Rush, alongside fresh experiences including Escalation and a Battle Royale variant. Conquest

Conquest remains the flagship mode of the series, focusing on large‑scale combat where teams fight to capture and hold multiple control points. Every captured objective reduces the enemy’s reinforcement tickets, and the match ends when one team runs out. Its open‑ended structure highlights Battlefield’s core strengths, letting players choose between vehicle combat, long‑range engagements, or close‑quarters fights.

Breakthrough

Breakthrough is an attack‑and‑defense mode that divides maps into sectors. Attackers must capture all objectives in a sector to advance, while defenders aim to hold their ground and deplete the attackers’ tickets. Its structured flow creates tense frontline battles and cinematic last‑stand moments.

Rush

Rush centers on tactical offense and defense, with attackers pushing to destroy key objectives while defenders work to stop them. Each successful destruction moves the battle deeper into enemy territory. The mode rewards coordinated squads and well‑timed pushes.

Escalation

Escalation is a new addition to Battlefield 6 that builds in intensity as the match progresses. Teams capture strategic points across the map until the battle culminates in a decisive final showdown. It blends methodical positioning with large‑scale chaos in the closing moments.

Battle Royale and Gauntlet

Battlefield 6 will also include a Battle Royale experience, challenging players to survive as the safe zone shrinks. Squads or solo players fight to be the last ones standing, with loot and positioning playing critical roles. EA has teased a Gauntlet variant for this mode, though full details are still under wraps.

Team Deathmatch

Team Deathmatch delivers classic FPS action with two teams racing to reach the kill target first. It offers fast, straightforward gameplay ideal for short sessions or weapon practice. Without objectives to capture, the focus is purely on combat.

Domination

Domination is a compact, infantry-focused mode where teams compete to control multiple small capture zones. Matches are fast-paced, with victory determined by which team can hold the majority of points and reduce the opposing team’s tickets. Its smaller scale offers a quicker alternative to the large battles seen in Conquest.

Squad Deathmatch

Squad Deathmatch shifts the formula to smaller‑scale skirmishes, with multiple squads competing for the highest number of eliminations. The mode is chaotic and favors aggressive, mobile play. Squad coordination often determines which team comes out on top.

King of the Hill

King of the Hill focuses on controlling a single capture zone to earn points over time. Some maps feature a rotating zone, forcing teams to reposition and fight for new areas. Matches are won by reaching the score limit or holding the lead when the timer expires.
