In an exciting development, Axie Infinity has announced a unique buy-in Origins tournament for its forthcoming Season 5. The event, scheduled to begin on July 15th, invites competitors from across the globe to partake in this thrilling competition.
The tournament features a limited number of 512 slots. Among these, 200 free-entry tickets are reserved for the top players from Season 4, while the remaining 312 slots are open to anyone willing to buy-in with 1 AXS token. These slots are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, so make sure to register at the earliest through the link here.
Over two days of action-packed gaming, competitors will encounter diverse competition stages utilizing different era runes and charms. The nail-biting conclusion featuring the final eight contestants will be live-streamed on July 16th via Twitch.
In an attempt to foster competitive gameplay, the Axie team will match the prize pool generated from buy-in funds. This prize pool will be apportioned among the top eight competitors. Notably, 10% of the prize pool will be contributed to the Axie Community Treasury. This innovative tournament format also aims to create additional utility for AXS and amass essential data for game balancing.
Participating contestants will be commemorated with a special ticket cosmetic in their Origins inventory, signifying their involvement in this memorable event.
The tournament proceeds as follows:

With the successful execution of the Atia Invitational, Axie Infinity continues its quest to enrich the competitive Axie scene and welcome a new generation of potential Lunacian arena champions. The team believes that fostering competitive play immediately post the implementation of a balancing patch will provide invaluable insights for potential balancing refinements. It paves the way for a balanced and immersive gaming experience. This comes in line with Sky Mavis' recent Competitive Grants announcement to continue to bolster the game's esports scene.
