Discover the Avalanche Battle Pass offering free NFTs and AVAX tokens. Learn how to mint the pass, connect it to supported games, and earn rewards in the Avalanche ecosystem.
The Avalanche network has introduced its first official gaming battle pass. The Avalanche Battle Pass is now available for free to mint on Magic Eden. Players who connect their pass and engage in supported games can earn rewards, including AVAX tokens and exclusive in-game NFTs.
This release comes from a collaboration between Ava Labs, Magic Eden, and Playfull. The aim is to bring together the growing Avalanche gaming ecosystem and make it more accessible for players to explore a range of titles while earning incentives. Here are all the games participating:
Avalanche Battle Pass Launches
The Avalanche Battle Pass is designed to be simple and straightforward. Players can mint it for free on Magic Eden starting June 16, and the pass will be available for 30 days. After obtaining the pass, players need to connect it on the official website, avaxpass.playfull.com, in order to track their progress.
Once the pass is registered, it starts recording a player's activity across supported games. Players can progress through a reward path by participating in these games. As their pass levels up, it unlocks in-game NFTs and AVAX tokens, adding an additional layer of incentives for players to stay engaged.
The first season of the Avalanche Battle Pass supports a range of titles within the ecosystem. Some of the most popular participating games include Off the Grid, Spellborne, and Pixelmon: Warden's Ascent. Other titles such as Forgotten Playland, DeFi Kingdoms, and The Arena are also supported.
This approach lets players earn rewards across different games and genres. Players do not need to stay within a single title; instead, the pass evolves alongside their activity across all supported games.
Avalanche Battle Pass Launches
Parker Heath, Ava Labs Gaming Lead, described the battle pass as a central hub for players to track progress across the ecosystem. He explained that this approach lets players move between titles without losing progress and incentives. The pass aims to unite disparate communities into a single ecosystem.
Heath called it “an on-chain watering hole”—a unified progression layer where players can earn rewards no matter which supported game they are playing. It reflects a key aim for the Avalanche ecosystem: making it easy for players to connect with and explore a range of titles.

To start participating, players can mint their free pass on Magic Eden. Once the pass is in their wallet, they need to connect it at avaxpass.playfull.com to activate it. Players then become eligible to start earning in-game rewards and tokens as they progress through supported games.
The pass also grants players special benefits, such as entry into premium pass giveaways and access to new titles within the ecosystem. It is designed to appeal to both casual players and those who are more deeply engaged in the Avalanche network.

The launch of the Avalanche Battle Pass comes at a time when the crypto gaming sector is experiencing a downturn. Some studios have closed, and many tokens have fallen in value. Nonetheless, the team at Ava Labs believes incentives like the battle pass can help revive the space.
Heath pointed to the success of Off the Grid, which surpassed 300,000 daily users after moving to the GUNZ mainnet, and MapleStory N, which drew more than 770,000 players upon launch. These figures show a strong appetite for blockchain-assisted gaming, and the battle pass aims to further connect players to these experiences.
The battle pass is designed not only to provide incentives for players but also to help grow the Avalanche community. Players are rewarded for exploring a range of titles, strengthening the ecosystem's ability to bring in and retain gamers. Other blockchain networks have tried to implement similar programs, with Solana launching its own game pass earlier this year.
The Avalanche Battle Pass underscores a growing industry trend toward unified progression and incentives across a network's ecosystem of games. By offering a free pass that rewards exploration and progress, the Avalanche Battle Pass aims to bring players together and foster a more interconnected and active community. It reflects a forward-looking approach to growing the ecosystem through incentives and collaboration.
