Pixelcraft Studios has introduced the mainnet for its game-oriented Geist blockchain, part of its Aavegotchi gaming ecosystem. This new development signals a major shift for Aavegotchi, which has migrated its infrastructure to provide users with faster, low-cost transactions and expanded gaming options. Geist, branded as a “members-only” blockchain, is designed to foster a dedicated gaming community and enhance the player experience with unique rewards, NFTs, and interoperable assets.

Geist is built using Arbitrum’s Orbit technology, with transactions settled on Base, a layer-2 (L2) blockchain. By utilizing Alchemy’s rollup solutions, Geist achieves sub-second transaction speeds and minimal transaction fees, aiming to provide a high-performance experience for users. This architecture optimizes the blockchain for game-centric transactions, which require fast processing and lower latency to support real-time interactions within games.
Upon launch, Geist allows users to mint the exclusive MAINNET NFT, the first piece in the Geist Milestones art collection. This NFT, part of an ongoing series, marks an achievement in the development of the Geist blockchain and allows members to own a commemorative digital asset. In addition, users can create unique Geist IDs, granting them access to exclusive blockchain functions and community features within the Aavegotchi ecosystem.
Previously, Aavegotchi’s ecosystem ran on the Polygon blockchain, with its original NFTs based on Ethereum. The introduction of Geist enables users to migrate their assets, including NFTs, to the new blockchain starting in November. Despite this migration, Aavegotchi’s NFT marketplace, known as Aavegotchi Baazaar, will continue supporting assets on Polygon, allowing users to trade and manage assets across platforms without disruption.
Geist Mainnet
The rollout of the Geist mainnet is part of a larger expansion strategy for Pixelcraft Studios. The studio plans to introduce a rewards program that incentivizes active engagement within the Aavegotchi ecosystem. Players will also be able to earn GOTCHI points, a cross-game currency that will be integrated into multiple Aavegotchi games. Additionally, the Aavegotchi Gaming Console, a central component of the gaming experience, will be migrated to Geist, enhancing the console's functionality and alignment with the blockchain's optimized features.
Geist will support the launch of new games, including Rektless and the 3D version of Gotchiverse, which is set for a soft launch. These releases are expected to showcase the capabilities of the Geist blockchain, focusing on immersive gameplay and real-time interactions. As an open-source protocol, Pixelcraft Studios encourages other developers in the web3 space to join the ecosystem, offering Geist as a foundation for building blockchain-based games. This open approach has already led to collaborations with various web3 developers interested in leveraging Geist’s unique infrastructure for their own games.
Welcome to Geist
The launch of the Geist mainnet represents a pivotal moment for Aavegotchi. By combining high-speed, low-cost transactions with a dedicated gaming-focused environment, Geist is positioned to provide players with a seamless experience across multiple titles and platforms. With new games, rewards, and the ability to migrate assets, Pixelcraft Studios continues to reinforce its position as a notable player in the web3 gaming ecosystem.
