Singapore-based game development studio 9 Lives Interactive, previously known as Rude Robot Studios, has announced securing $3 million in funding for their upcoming project, Nyan Heroes.
The investment round was spearheaded by Mechanism Capital, with participation from various other notable investors, including Sfermion, 3Commas Capital, Momentum 6, Kosmos Ventures, Devmons GG, and CSP DAO.
The funds obtained will be directed towards advancing the development of Nyan Heroes, an innovative hero shooter game poised to merge distinctive gameplay elements with cat-themed characters and blockchain technology, aiming for widespread adoption among gaming enthusiasts.
Established in 2021, 9 Lives Interactive boasts a team of accomplished industry professionals hailing from renowned gaming studios such as Electronic Arts, Bungie, and Ubisoft.
Additionally, the studio benefits from the guidance of senior advisors affiliated with Riot Games and Twitch, leveraging their extensive experience in crafting top-tier multiplayer shooter and live service titles such as Halo, Destiny, Fortnite, Marvel’s Avengers, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six.
Max Fu CEO and creative director of 9 Lives Interactive, expressed enthusiasm about their flagship project, stating:
“Our objective is to deliver an immersive gaming experience tailored for fans of team-based shooters across all demographics. Nyan Heroes leverages cutting-edge technology, including the Unreal Engine 5 and blockchain integration, to facilitate genuine asset ownership within a flourishing creator economy.”
Currently undergoing pre-alpha testing, Nyan Heroes introduces players to a team-based hero shooter environment where whimsical feline characters control formidable mechs in competitive engagements to safeguard the world.
With eight distinct guardian classes, each equipped with unique abilities and agile, cat-like movements, players must secure objectives and overcome adversaries. The game's "augment weapon" system enables highly customizable mechs, providing a wide array of playstyles and opportunities for players to showcase their skills.
Set in the bustling underground metropolis of New Nekovia, characterized by its vibrant atmosphere and holographic vistas, Nyan Heroes has already garnered considerable anticipation among gaming communities and is scheduled for early access from March 26 to April 9.
Andrew Cain from Mechanism Capital praised the game, remarking, “Nyan Heroes stands out as a captivating hero-shooter, offering fresh gameplay, endearing heroes, and enticing rewards in a manner previously unseen within the genre.”
Currently available for early access on the Epic Games Store, Nyan Heroes has introduced Airdrop missions, allowing the community to engage with $NYN, the token underpinning the Nyan Heroes Ecosystem, further enhancing the game's immersive experience and community engagement.
The $NYN token is at the center of the team's latest Airdrop, serving as the ecosystem token. It facilitates value accrual through marketplace fees, mint fees, and studio revenue buybacks. With a fixed total supply, $NYN adopts deflationary mechanisms over time, correlated to network activity and marketplace transactions. Additionally, $NYN functions as a governance token with staking mechanisms.
Stay informed about Nyan Heroes events by checking their Twitter and Discord for updates. Nyan Heroes ensures players that security is a top priority, emphasizing they will never request private keys. Don't miss the opportunity to earn free tokens and explore the world of Nyan Heroes in this unique Airdrop campaign.
