This part of the walkthrough picks up after reaching the gates of Metropolis. Before heading deeper into the city, Mio needs to return to The Severed Spine to unlock key progression tools and abilities.
Returning to The Severed Spine
From the Metropolis gate, head west and take the hidden path beneath the ice slope. Break through the ice wall to re-enter an earlier section of the Dwellings and make your way back to The Severed Spine.
Once inside, go to the bottom floor Workshop. Mel will be here as a vendor if you have enough Nacre. Use the grapple point outside the Workshop door to reach the upper level and collect the Silo Access Badge.

You can now restore the Network by offering Nacre to Shii, which unlocks map access. Use the Attuner to open the door on the right with the Silo Access Badge. This leads into a cave filled with enemies and eventually into a new area.
Entering Feral Undergrowth
After moving through the cave, the environment changes as you enter Feral Undergrowth. Early on, the path splits. The west path currently leads to a dead end with a few enemies, so take the downward route to continue.
Push forward through the area, watching for enemies that jump from off-screen. You will find a Traveller’s Log along the western path shortly after. Use the platforms ahead to climb upward, but before continuing along the main route, take the upper platforms to grab optional loot.
Here, you can salvage a mechanical part for an Old Core and use a grapple point to reach a Coating Component. After collecting these, climb to the top of the area.
You will find a Crystalliser near a breakable flower that unlocks a shortcut once destroyed. Continue onward using the nearby grapple point to reach the next section.

Meeting Arjuna and Advancing the Zone
At the next fork, the upper path leads to a Nacre Basin, while the lower path continues progression. Take the lower route to reach an open chamber with an NPC named Arjuna.
Reaching him requires careful platforming using double jumps and mid-air flower hits. Speaking with Arjuna rewards another Old Core. The lower path beyond this point leads to a new area that can be explored later, so backtrack for now.

MIO: Memories in Orbit Walkthrough Part 2
On the way back, prepare for an ambush enemy near the Crystalliser. Below this enemy is some Crystallised Nacre. Use the grapple point to cross the lake, then look above it for a hidden chamber that can be accessed with the Hairpin. Inside is another Coating Component.
Continue west to reach the boss arena.
Boss Fight: Flora, Sentient Pearltrap
Flora is a relatively simple boss compared to earlier encounters. The fight focuses on aerial movement and jump control.
Stay off the ground and close to Flora’s head. Attacking her refreshes your jump, allowing you to stay airborne and keep pressure on her. Most of her attacks are ineffective if you remain in the air.
Once her health drops below half, poisoned water fills part of the arena. Falling into it costs an entire health bar, so positioning becomes more important. You can use the grapple point in the arena to quickly reposition if needed.
Keep attacking consistently and Flora should go down without much trouble.

After the Boss and Returning to The Spine
After the fight, speak with the NPC Flora releases. This character becomes your Personal Assistant and later relocates to The Severed Spine.
Use the grapple point to the right to reach the far side of the lake and collect the Aviaries Passepartout, which unlocks access to the next major zone.
Return to The Severed Spine and speak with Mel in the Workshop to receive a side quest involving her Scraplings. Use the Workshop elevator to reach L1: The Spine and head across the long bridge. With the Network restored, you can now meet Estrogen the Librarian near the large sphere.
Continue forward to reach the Aviaries entrance.

Unlocking the Dodge Ability
Enter the Aviaries and interact with the Strange Tube to speak with Samsk. You will be transported to a virtual training area where you learn the dodge ability.
Complete the training segment to unlock dodge permanently. Afterward, grab a Letter from Tomo and use the grapple point above the room to collect Crystallised Nacre.

MIO: Memories in Orbit Walkthrough Part 2
Continue west through a combat gauntlet to reach an obstructed elevator leading into Haven. You cannot proceed from this side yet.
Before ending this section, return to the large bridge in The Spine and drop through the hidden path beneath it to find one more Coating Component.
With dodge unlocked and the Aviaries Passepartout in hand, Mio is ready to move on to the next major area.
