Overview

Illuvium Beyond is an enthralling and fiercely competitive collectible card game that provides a distinct experience for all types of players. The game's album is a pivotal component as it enables players to archive their Illuvitars and monitor their progress. With collections, milestones, album points, and the game's competitive aspect, players are instilled with purpose and impetus to continue playing and refining their collections. The leaderboard and rankings confer a sense of prestige and acclaim to top players, compelling them to strive for excellence. Illuvium Beyond is the most exhilarating NFT collection on the blockchain, with stunning visuals, addictive collecting, and a competitive nature that distinguishes it from its peers.

On March 7th, the eagerly anticipated collectible card game, Illuvium Beyond, will be released, providing collectors with a customizable and thrilling experience. This game boasts an extensive collection of distinctive, hand-drawn Illuvitars, accessories, backgrounds, finishes, and competitive features, making it an enjoyable experience for all. Additionally, the game's future looks promising, as there are plans for a casual PvP card game in development, which is subject to approval from the DAO.

Illuvitars

Illuvitars are customizable collectibles that will serve as your profile picture within the game's adventure world, and become a crucial part of how you present yourself in-game, adding another layer to the RPG mechanics of the game. However, that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what these charming creatures have to offer. With thousands of accessory combinations available across five slots - Headwear, Eyewear, Skin, Bodywear, and Props - players will have the ability to personalize and tailor their Illuvitars to their specific tastes, allowing them to stand out from the crowd. We got to see them for the first time in detail around September 2022.

The finish of an Illuvitar is an important factor, as it affects its overall appearance. There are currently two finishes available, color and holo, with the possibility of more in the future. These are hand-drawn characters with three different expressions to collect. The power rating of an Illuvitar is determined by its rarity, as well as the rarity of its accessories.

  • Expressions: Each Illuvitar has three expressions, and collecting all three is crucial for completing your collection. It also provides a sense of accomplishment and helps improve your ranking on the leaderboard.
  • Backgrounds: In addition to the expressions, each Illuvitar also comes with a random background of its own rarity. These backgrounds can enhance the overall appearance and uniqueness of an Illuvitar, contributing to its power.
  • Accessories: Illuvitars can be customized with five accessory slots that include head, body, skin, props, and eyes. Each accessory has its own rarity, and only one accessory can be permanently bonded per slot. This allows players to create a unique and personalized appearance for their Illuvitar. The accessories not only add to the visual impact but also contribute to the overall power of the Illuvitar.
  • Finish: The appearance of the Illuvitar is greatly influenced by its finish, which significantly impacts its rarity. Currently, there are two available finishes - color and holo - with the potential for additional finishes to be introduced in the future. Holos are extremely rare, and their discovery is celebrated during the Launch Party.
  • Power Rating: Each Illuvitar has a power rating that can exceed 9000! The power of an Illuvitar is determined by its rarity and the rarity of accessories added. This rating is a significant factor in the game's competitive aspect, as it influences the player's overall score.

D1sks

Illuvium Beyond players can utilize D1sks to obtain Illuvitars and Accessories, each of which is randomly generated. However, players can also engage in D1sk trades with other players, providing them with the opportunity to acquire coveted items. The decentralized nature of the trading system ensures that players have more autonomy over their transactions.

Additionally, players may opt to retain their D1sks, as increased demand could make them increasingly scarce and therefore more valuable. This ties in with the Album feature, allowing collectors to be rewarded for their hobby and earn Leaderboard Points. The more difficult it is to complete a collection given the rarity of the Illuvitars involved, the higher the reward.

There are two varieties of D1sk available: the Standard D1sk and the Mega D1sk.

  1. Standard D1sk: A Standard D1sk includes one Illuvitar, three accessories, and one Tier 0 Illuvitar.
  2. Mega D1sk: In contrast, the Mega D1sk features a guaranteed rare Illuvitar in place of the Tier 0 Illuvitar. While more expensive, the Mega D1sk provides a higher likelihood of receiving exceptional items.

Illuvium: Beyond Hub

The Illuvium Beyond Hub serves as the central hub where all the thrilling events occur. From expanding your collection and browsing the marketplace to monitoring your assets, leaderboards, bonding accessories, and tracking your progress, it is an indispensable addition to your bookmarks for convenient access.

Album

The album is an indispensable component of Illuvium Beyond, where players store all their Illuvitars accumulated during their journey. The album consists of diverse collections that grant players a goal to strive for and a sense of achievement when a collection or milestone is completed. Moreover, players earn points for their collection that boost their rank, allowing them to compete with other collectors.

Collections

Collections represent pages in the album with a particular theme. The game presents over 100 collections, providing players with numerous options and challenges to select from. Some collections are simple, such as the Illuvial Line collection that encompasses all Illuvitars in a specific line, like the Dodo or Axolotl. In contrast, others are more complex, like the Affinity collection that groups Illuvitars based on their elemental affinity.

The various types of collections available in Illuvium Beyond are as follows:

  1. Illuvial Line: This collection consists of all the Illuvitars in a specific line.
  2. Accessory Line: This collection comprises all the Accessories in a line, but they must first be bonded to an Illuvitar.
  3. Background Line: This collection includes all the Backgrounds in a line, requiring you to have an Illuvitar with those backgrounds.
  4. Affinity: This collection groups Illuvitars based on their elemental affinities, such as Water, Nature, and Fire.
  5. Class: This collection groups Illuvitars based on their roles in the game, such as Fighter, Bulwark, and Rogue.
  6. Set: This collection groups Illuvitars based on the Set they originated from.

Milestones and Sleeves

Milestones are vital checkpoints in Illuvium Beyond that allow players to earn album points, track their progress, and provide a clear objective to aim for. Each collection has its own set of milestones tailored to the collection's theme, providing players with achievable goals. For instance, the Illuvial Line collection has six milestones, three for the Illuvials in the line and three for different expressions. Players can complete a milestone by collecting all expressions of an Illuvial or collecting all rare expressions. Achieving a milestone visually represents a player's progress and provides valuable points.

The album's collections have multiple sleeves designated to place Illuvitars. Players can increase their score by placing powerful Illuvitars in the sleeves. Strategic planning and management of trades and purchases are crucial for maximizing a collection's potential by placing Illuvitars in different sleeves across various collections. While players can opt for the automatic placement of Illuvitars in available sleeves, it is not as optimized as doing it manually.

Competitive Aspect

Competition in Illuvium Beyond is a significant aspect that allows players to challenge each other. The leaderboard keeps track of the top 100 players with the highest album points, showcasing the most prominent collectors. The players' rank varies from Bronze to Diamond, adding an extra level of competitiveness based on their album points. The main three competitive segments of this sector of Illuvium's universe are the following:

  • Album Points: Each Illuvitar has a power rating that determines the number of points players receive when they add it to their album. Completing collections and milestones also increases the player's album points total. The higher the points earned by a player, the higher their position on the leaderboard.
  • Leaderboard: The leaderboard displays the top 100 players in Illuvium: Beyond, providing a great opportunity to measure yourself against others and understand what is needed to climb the ranks. The player's username, rank, and album points are shown on the leaderboard, helping players identify the best collectors.
  • Rank: The rank system depends on album points, and it ranges from Bronze to Diamond. As players gather more points, they climb the ranks, with each rank requiring more points than the previous one. The rank system serves as an incentive to collect more Illuvitars, complete more collections and milestones, and reach higher positions. Additionally, players receive exclusive borders to use around their Illuvitars based on the rank they achieve later.

We hope you enjoyed our Illuvium Beyond guide and we got you prepared for Illuvium's collectible galore. It can get addicting to collect these adorable creatures faster than you think so be careful out there.
