PvP in Hytale is designed to be optional. By default, all worlds have player-versus-player combat turned off to keep cooperative gameplay safe and predictable. If fighting monsters no longer feels challenging and players want to test their skills against each other, PvP needs to be manually enabled.
How to Turn PvP On in Hytale
PvP is controlled through world settings. It can be enabled when creating a world or added later to an existing one.
Enabling PvP in a New World
Open Hytale and go to the main menu
Select Worlds
Click Create World
Select the cog icon near the world name to open settings
Scroll down to the PvP option
Enable PvP so the box is checked
Click Apply Settings
Select Create World
PvP is active as soon as the world is created, and all players who join can engage in combat.
Enabling PvP in an Existing World
PvP can also be enabled on worlds that already exist.
Go to the Hytale main menu
Select Worlds
Right-click the world you want to edit
Open the world settings using the cog icon
Scroll down to the PvP option
Enable PvP
Click Apply Settings
PvP will be active the next time the world is loaded.
What to Expect After Enabling PvP
PvP applies to the entire world. Once enabled, all players can damage each other, and there is no way to restrict PvP to specific players without mods. Spawn protection may still apply briefly when players first join, but outside those areas, combat is fully active.
It is a good idea to let players know in advance that PvP is enabled, especially in survival worlds where resources and gear matter.
