So you’ve read our Fishing Frenzy Ultimate Beginner’s Guide and now have the skills of a soon-to-be master fisherman, right? And now you’re wondering about how web3 plays a part in the casual but addictively fun gameplay loop of Fishing Frenzy. Well, look no further, because today’s guide will explain the web3 aspects of Fishing Frenzy, especially its integration with the Ronin chain, NFT assets like chests and rods, and finally the cooking and pearl system, which is a great way to rack up Frenzy Points.

Ronin Integration

Okay, so since you already know the gameplay basics, let’s just skip that and move on to the main topic, which is the web3 elements of Fishing Frenzy. The game is free to play, and even web2 users will have no problem signing up and jumping straight into fishing. But if you want to explore more of the game through its NFT features, you’ll need to have a Ronin Wallet.

The game actually creates a wallet for your account automatically upon your first login. But don’t worry, because users can export this wallet by copying the seed phrase or private key, making it a secure and fully accessible wallet. From there, you can deposit funds into that wallet to use for your Fishing Frenzy shopping adventures. This whole Ronin chain setup is important because Fishing Frenzy is part of the larger Ronin game ecosystem. On-chain game items are primarily traded using the $RON token, and assets that can be minted are done so on the Ronin chain itself.

NFT Rods and Chests

As a free-to-play player, you can enjoy the game using your basic fishing rod. But at some point, you might win special prizes like the Founder’s Chest (basically the game’s version of a gacha box) through leaderboard events, creator events, or by purchasing them directly. These chests can reward you with upgraded fishing rods, which come in both non-NFT and NFT versions. The NFT versions offer a lot more perks.

Chests come in different rarities, and the chance to pull better rods increases with higher rarity. Take note that if you buy NFT assets using your own personal Ronin wallet (not the auto-created game wallet), you will need to transfer them to your game wallet in order to actually use them in-game.

The cool thing about upgraded rods, whether they are NFT or not, is that they come with various stats. These can include things like increased catch size or XP boost per successful catch. Some rods may even make fishing harder by increasing difficulty. All upgraded rods have a chance of breaking after use, but they can be repaired using gold. You can equip upgraded rods by opening your inventory and selecting the rod you want to use.

Shiny Fish and Marketplace

Now here’s the key part. Only NFT rods can catch Shiny Fish. These are shiny versions of the regular fish you catch, and they can be minted and traded on the marketplace. You can check the shiny catch rate of each NFT rod by viewing their attributes on the Ronin marketplace.

Also, be careful when buying NFT rods because some of them might be broken. Broken rods will appear grayed out on the marketplace so you can easily spot them. Shiny fish also have another purpose. They can be used in special cooking recipes, which we’ll talk about next.

Cooking System and Pearl Roulette

Cooking is another fun feature added to the game. It gives you more ways to use the fish you catch aside from just selling them for gold. In this system, you’ll see a list of recipes. After collecting the required fish, you can cook them into dishes like sashimi. Once cooked, you’ll get rewards such as cooking XP and energy, which lets you fish even more. There is also a bit of gacha involved in cooking, as the outcome of the cooked dish is determined by RNG. Still, it adds more fun and variety to the loop.

Shiny fish aren’t just for flexing or flipping on the marketplace, as they can be tossed straight into the frying pan too. Well, kinda. In Fishing Frenzy, shiny fish are used in special cooking recipes, which are clearly labeled as "special" so you know you're about to cook something fancy. These recipes need shiny fish to complete and reward you with more than just regular cooking XP.

Pearls are the premium event currency of the game, and they’re your ticket to spinning the massive Fishing Frenzy roulette. This roulette is packed with juicy rewards like gold, chests, and the big one, Frenzy Points. Whether you’re aiming for a little bonus or going all-in for leaderboard clout, cooking shiny fish is your path to Pearl-powered progress. This adds a fun new layer to the economy. Some players grind shiny catches with NFT rods, while others watch the marketplace like hawks, buying shiny fish at the right time just to cook them up and chase big wins. It’s a back-and-forth between fishing pros and market-savvy cooks, and it makes every shiny catch feel like a mini jackpot. More features are still cooking behind the scenes, so expect this system to get even spicier in future updates.

Get into a Fishing Frenzy

Now that we’ve covered the key things you need to know about Fishing Frenzy’s web3 features, it’s time for you to grab your rod and start fishing. We’ve only scratched the surface of what the game offers. There’s still more to talk about, like the Battle Pass, VIP system, and Founder’s Pass NFT. Those deserve their own guide. So stay tuned, keep fishing, and we’ll catch you in the next one, angler.
