Escape from Tarkov’s Duck Hunt event is a limited-time mission available in both PvE and PvP. It is part of the crossover with Escape from Duckov, a parody extraction shooter, and can be accepted from Jaeger at any level with no prerequisites required.
The task itself is simple on paper. Players must locate and shoot 69 toy ducks hidden across Tarkov’s maps. Each map contains up to ten ducks, except Factory which has nine. In addition to the ducks, players also need to find and hand in 15 cans of duck pâté.
While the objectives are straightforward, the challenge comes from how well-hidden the ducks are. Many are placed high above ground, inside buildings, or tucked into rafters and rooftops.

Best Tips for Finding Ducks
Using a headset is strongly recommended. Ducks emit a faint quacking sound when players are nearby, which often helps narrow down their location. Outside of audio cues, visual scanning is key. Ducks are commonly placed on rooftops, ledges, watchtowers, and rafters.
Many ducks can be shot from a distance, so bringing a weapon with a scope speeds things up and reduces unnecessary risk.

Every Duck Locations
Customs
On Customs, ducks are spread between industrial areas, rooftops, and landmarks. Several can be found on elevated positions such as the roof of Three-storey Dorms, the Skeleton structure, and storage unit roofs near Big Red. Others are hidden in places like Crackhouse, under the river bridge, and near the Military Checkpoint sniper tower.
Woods
Woods places ducks in wide open spaces and vertical structures. Expect to find them on cranes, rocks, watchtowers, and rooftops near extracts. Key areas include the USEC Camp, Saw Mill, FOB Med Camp, Sunken Village, and Scav House near Outskirts.
Reserve
Reserve ducks heavily favor rooftops and elevated terrain. Several are located on buildings near major extracts, on top of the helicopter, and in watchtowers. A few are placed underground, including one in the tunnel leading toward D2 and another inside the train station rafters.
Interchange
Interchange has fewer confirmed duck locations compared to other maps. Ducks are primarily found inside Goshan, including the rafters above the central bonfire and cargo areas behind the main stores where boxes are stacked.
Factory
Factory ducks are packed into tight indoor spaces. Most are found underground in tunnels, near blocked paths, and on high ducts and rooftops. One duck can be seen through the office window on the flat roof, making it easier to shoot without moving outside.
Shoreline
Shoreline spreads ducks across landmarks and villages. Notable locations include the Lighthouse near Pier Boat extract, Weather Station rooftop, Sanitar’s cottage, Scav Island, and multiple village structures. Resort areas also contain ducks placed on upper floors and rooftops.
Ground Zero
Ground Zero ducks are found in urban spaces and underground tunnels. Some are placed on vehicles, sandbags, and containers, while others sit above tunnel entrances or near the Mira Avenue extract.
Where Duck Pâté Can Be Found
Duck pâté is treated like standard food loot. It can be found across Tarkov in food crates, ration boxes, sports bags, suitcases, ground caches, buried barrels, and on dead Scavs. Goshan shelves remain one of the most reliable spots due to the high food spawn rate.
Running food-heavy loot routes is usually faster than searching specific maps for pâté.
All Duck Hunt Rewards
Completing Duck Hunt rewards players with 25,000 XP, a 0.03 reputation increase with Jaeger, 345,234 rubles, and a +4 boost to the Perception skill. The Perception increase is the most valuable part of the reward, especially for players still leveling core skills.
Duck Hunt is not difficult mechanically, but it rewards patience and awareness. Players who take their time, listen for audio cues, and check elevated positions will finish the event much faster. While tracking down all 69 ducks takes effort, the skill boost and rewards make the grind worthwhile.
